Fall Wreath #2: Book Page Wreath

I was definitely feeling inspired after yesterday’s post on 10 Ways to Decorate With Book Pages, so I decided to jump right into making my very own book page wreath and I am crazy about how it turned out!

If you all remember, a few weeks ago I revealed my first fall wreath of the year and I definitely liked it but I was pretty honest about my feelings toward it. SO, I decided to challenge myself to make a new fall wreath that I absolutely love. And you know what? I absolutely LOVE my new book page wreath, a big L-O-V-E! I stuck with my challenge of only using things I had around my house or things from the dollar store, but this time I didn’t even spend a penny because this wreath cost me $.00!  Bonus.

I started out by cutting a circle out of an old box we had laying around and then covered it with book pages to create the base for the wreath.

Then, I made these accordion style flowers out of book pages (each flower has 3 small accordion pieces) and layered the flowers until they covered the entire wreath. I love how layering the flowers gave it some depth.

After the wreath was complete I accessorized it with some old buttons that my grandma recently gave me.

After trying out the wreath in several rooms in the house, I finally found it a home on a shelf in our family room! I’ve been all about big pops of bold color lately so I added some ribbon to top it off. The colors might not be for everyone but it works in this space.

After two wreaths in the past few weeks I think I am wreathed out for a while… quit while you’re ahead right? :)

  1. This looks so fun! Love it! I don’t have the heart to do it myself…something about being an English major and former English teacher won’t let me cut up book pages…lol. But I like looking at yours! :) I’d be so excited for you to link it up to my door decor challenge:

I came across this wreath while searching for inspiration for book page wreaths. Its so different from the traditional book page cone wreaths that seem to flood blog land nowadays. And guess what? I made one similar to yours! It turned out great! Even my hubby with zero craft sense liked it!
