If you’ve been around for a while, you’ll know that I decided to go with a ‘rustic-glam’ look this year for the holidays. I’ve been all about the burlap and jute combined with silver and sparkle. I’m really happy with how the whole looked turned out and I think I’ll keep it around for next year too. Mainly because I didn’t get everything checked off my list and I still have some super cool projects in the works!
Before I called it quits for the season, I did finish one last project that was an absolute must. I’m sharing with you today my burlap Christmas stockings. Before you dive into the pics, please disregard the wall color and the ‘lack-there-of’ mantel! This room is next on my re-do list and I am serious about it! (Please, someone out there hold me accountable to that)
I paired the rustic burlap with a shiny champagne satin. It’s hard to tell the material from these pics, but it’s actually much more elegant. I also lined each stocking with the satin so they are nice and cozy inside.
I added a pine cone and spray painted floral accents to each stocking to give it a little more festive touch.
If you look closely I left the seams showing to create a more rustic feel. I used my serger to create this look.
And there they are… waiting patiently for Santa to arrive!
Happy Holidays Everyone! I may or may not be back with another post this week. :)

Taryn,
Great stockings!Very Creative and fits well with your house. Proud Dad.
Thanks Dad! I love that you figured out how to comment on my blog, makes me a proud daughter ;)
Love your stockings! And I love that you lined them, that was brilliant :) I wonder on your future mantle idea if you could incorporate your love of palate wood?? It would certainly go with your stockings, but I don’t know about the rest of the room :) Just throwing out ideas to get you going on new projects!!
Thanks, Stacey! I have so many ideas for the mantel, I just have to decide on something haha. I’ve thought about doing a pallet wall behind the mantel, building a restored wood mantel or a big masculine white one. We’ll see how it turned out. I have to finish the wainscoting and the pallet project in the family room first.
I love the stockings! I’ve been wanting Burlap stockings for years. Yours are so cute with the white cuffs. Thanks for sharing.
