Happy Friday! Whenever we wake up to a sunny day in Seattle, you know it’s going to be a good day! In fact, the weather has been incredible all week, I’m loving it. But according to our track record, we generally have fabulous weather in May and then it rains the whole month of June. But I’m crossing my fingers this year is different!
To be honest, lately I’ve really been struggling with balancing being a stay-at-home mom and part-time work-from-home mom (And in case you are wondering I do marketing/advertising freelance work from home). My husband could tell I’ve been having a lot of mommy guilt and to cheer me up he decided we should have a family day at the zoo. Oh he knows me so well because that is exactly what I needed! Some good quality time with my little girl and handsome hubs free of email and obligations!
This was Baby E’s first trip to the zoo and it was perfect. The weather was gorgeous, the zoo was nearly empty and we came home with so many memories.
The penguins were her favorite part of the zoo. She loved watching them swim and waddling around.
This is a pretty typical expression for Baby E, she is an observer. Takes it all in.
Goats!
The cows were another favorite exhibit. Lucky for her, there is a whole field of them across from our neighborhood! I know where we are going on walks from now on :)
I personally don’t think I have ever seen a peacock in person with its feathers out before. It was so beautiful, I couldn’t stop staring.
Mommy and daughter time with the lions.
If there was glass she could touch, she was a happy girl.
Now this was my husband’s and my favorite part of the trip! These huge bears actually got into the water and started playing together. It was the coolest thing I had ever seen! We watched them give kisses and love bites and play for about 20 minutes.
We had a wonderful day at the zoo and I’m so excited we were able to go as a family.
AND in other exciting Baby E news, we had her 1 year pictures taken with the wonderful Kelly Harper Photography and we love how they turned out. Here’s a peek!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

She’s way cute withe the penguins! And love the shots of the bears – that’s one of my favorite places in the zoo, even though I’m rather terrified of them.

What a great way to spend the day. Your little cutie pie obviously enjoyed it as uh as her momma and daddy. I am so glad you got to have this fun, family day!
