A few weeks ago Miss E and I flew down to San Diego to spend some quality girl time with one of my best friends. Oh it was heavenly. The beach, sunshine, Sea World, relaxing and of course…. SHOPPING! My friend recently moved into a new home so we spent a lot of time shopping for furniture and home decor accessories and I didn’t complain one bit!
After posting a few pics on Instagram (follow me @TarynatDDD), I received several requests for a post on where we went shopping. So here you have it! We stayed a little north of San Diego so this is where we did all of our shopping. If you live anywhere near the area I highly recommend it. Some of the shops were a little on the pricey side (for me), but well worth going into just for inspiration.
We did almost all of our shopping in Cedros Avenue Design District in Solana Beach. You could easily spend all day here. There is everything from thrift stores to antique shops, interior design companies, and your basic home decor shops (along with gift shops and restaurants). I fell in love with so many shops but here are a few of my favorites.
I absolutely fell in love with the outside of this adorable shop, Home Vintage. Unfortunately, the shop was closed while we were there but we were able to peak though the gates and she has some fabulous vintage pieces in there. I wanted to take everything home with me. Debi also offers classes and has a cute blog. Check it out.
One of my favorite stores was SoLo. This space is FULL of design inspiration. My favorite space in the shop was this industrial chic display. Swoon. I want everything. (Excuse the Instagram photo)
Leaping Lotus was another favorite and the most affordable. This isn’t just a shop, its a full market place filled with different vendors. The space covers everything from clothing, home decor accessories, furniture, lighting, and gifts. The prices are actually really awesome and I wish we had something like this near my house! This was the store where I found these gorgeous tables and dressers that I shared on Instagram. Aren’t they amazing?
Antique Wharehouse is the ultimate antique store. It was extremely prices compared to the antique stores around Seattle, but they have some incredible pieces. 1,500 square feet of both gorgeous and unique antiques. Because this area is close to Del Mar, there is a lot of horse racing memorabilia there which was really cool to see. I found several pieces I would die for. (PS the website is not very user friendly, just take my word for it and head over there).
And lastly, Bon Bon. Oh how I love you. This store is not on Cedros, but it is very close by. I seriously wanted to pick up the whole store and put it in my house. It is a mix of both old and new and lots of refinished pieces. Vintage, industrial, chic, farmhouse, glam, that pretty much sums it up. However, I will warn you, it is on the pricey side. But if you are a DIYer just head over and be inspired by all of the gorgeous pieces and go make your own :)
And that’s it folks. Hope you have a fabulous weekend! We are supposed to have record breaking temperatures over the next few days, eek! Hope I don’t melt away!
