It’s time for week 2 of the Dog Days of Winter Are Over Series! This week it’s all about turning something old into something new again (tune in tomorrow for the official link party). Last spring, I found this old glider ottoman at the Goodwill for $10. I picked it up on a whim hoping to give it a makeover one day. Well, fast forward 8 months and it is finally done. Whew.
I’m not sharing a tutorial for this project because let’s just say it was a big learning experience. I have never worked on a project like this before so it was a ‘learn as I go’ type of situation. There are definitely a lot of things I would do differently next time. While I like the look of the finished project, it’s not perfect. I’m definitely motivated to take on round 2!
I found the chevron fabric at Hobby Lobby, you can find it online here. I paired it with 14″ legs that I spray painted white and topped it off with stainless upholstery nails.
I really enjoyed the Thrift-It challenge because 1) I was able to finish a project that has been on my ‘to-do’ list for 8 months and 2) it was a great learning experience for me and 3) I’m motivated to take on another furniture project!
Be sure to stop by tomorrow to link up your Thrift-It projects!
