Choo-Choo For 2 Sign Using Silhouette Double-Sided Adhesive

And so it begins, the planning of other birthday party for Miss E! I honestly can’t believe she will be turning the big TWO in just over a month. It is so crazy to think that two years have already flown by. I’m already starting to plan her birthday party and thanks to my friends over at Silhouette, I’m getting a jump-start on some of the decorations. Soooo, you want a peek at her party this year?

I’ll admit, this year will not be as extravagant as her 1st Birthday Party, we are having this year’s at an activity center so I’m limited with what I can do. HOWEVER, even though the venue gave me detailed (non) decorating instructions, that will not stop me from putting together a little something, something!

This year, Miss E is getting a Girly Train Party. She is mildly obsessed with trains but is also a very girly girl so I put together a little “Choo-Choo For 2!” canvas sign using the Silhouette Double-Sided Adhesive Tape and gray and pink flocking.

The Silhouette Double-Sided Adhesive Kit is absolutely worth the money! I had so much fun experimenting with it and I can’t believe how much it comes with. And to think you can buy it right now for $12.99 is a complete steal. (Just use the code DIAPER at check-out).

I placed one sheet of the double-sided adhesive onto my Silhouette cutting mat (white side up) and cut out my graphic. Then I used a sheet of transfer paper to take the design off of the cutting mat.

Next, using the spatula included in the kit, I peeled off the yellow backing to reveal the 1st layer of the adhesive. Careful not to actually peel off the adhesive layer.

Then I transferred the design directly onto the canvas and then peeled off the transfer paper.

For my design, I chose the pink and gray flocking that came with the kit. I was so happy to find these colors because they worked perfectly with Miss E’s party theme!

Since I was working with 2 different colors, I had to be careful not to mix the two accidentally. So help, I peeled off the train paper first revealing the sticky adhesive and then applied the gray flocking first. Since it was a larger surface, I poured the whole container of gray flocking onto the design and then used the included brush to gently move it around until the train was covered. Then I simple brushed off the excess and put it back into the container.

Next, I peeled off one side of the text and applied the pink and then repeated on the opposite side. It worked beautifully!

Right now, through February 14th, Silhouette is running some amazing promotions on the Portrait and Double-Sided Adhesive Kit! This would make a great Valentine’s Day gift so make sure to tell your significant other what’s on your list :) Don’t forget to use the code DIAPER at check-out!
