DIY Burlap Utensil Holder-Valentine’s Day Edition

It’s Week 4 in the Dog Days of Winter Are Over Series and it’s all about Valentine’s Day! For my LOVE-IT project, I chose to make DIY Burlap Utensil Holders inspired by I {Heart} Nap Time’s Thanksgiving Utensil Holder. I love Jamielyn’s so much that I decided to make my own Valentine’s Day Edition.

These are so easy to put together and are a simple way to add a little Valentine’s Day cheer to your table.

Supplies Needed:

1/4 Yard Red Burlap

Snow White Americana Paint/Paint Brush

Hot Glue Gun

Red/White Baker’s Twine

Scissors

Cut your burlap to fit your utensils. I cut mine on the fold so I only had to hot glue the sides together. And just to caution you, I would cut it a little larger than you would like because burlap tends to slide while you cut it and you might need to trim it a few times to get it straight. Or am I the only one that this happens to?! :)

I used Snow White Americana Acrylic Paint for my heart, but you would use any white textile paint.

Using a fine tip brush, I free handed a heart and then filled it in. But you could always use a stencil if you are more comfortable with that.

Lastly, I added some red and white baker’s twine for a little embellishment.

Cute, easy, and very cost effective. My kind of project!
