Natural Kitchen Sink Cleaner

Today I’m kicking off the week with my Clean-It project! Nothing like a little motivation to try a few new cleaning techniques and actually start some spring cleaning. One big item that has been on my to-do list is finding a cleaner for my kitchen sink. As a regular DIYer, I am constantly washing out paint brushes and cleaning projects in our kitchen sink. And unfortunately it has taken a beating lately. I’ve had some paint splatters stained on there for a while now that I just can’t seem to get off. SO, I decided to take this opportunity to find a solution.

While browsing through Pinterest, I came across this natural kitchen sink cleaner recipe by Project: Re Loved and decided to give it a try. I liked this recipe because it is all natural and uses common ingredients found in almost any household. So want to know how it turned out?

Yes! The paint is all gone and now I have a shiny and clean sink again! So want to know how I did it?

Recipe:

3/4 Cup Baking Soda

1/4 Cup Lemon Juice

1/4 Cup Olive Oil

1/4 Cup Vinegar

*Makes enough for one cleaning of a large kitchen sink.

Combine the Baking Soda, Lemon Juice and Olive Oil in a bowl and mix thoroughly until it forms a paste.

Spread the paste over your sink, making sure to coat it thoroughly. I preferred to use my fingers but you could also use a towel as well. Fill the spray bottle with the vinegar and then spray on top of the paste mixture in the sink.

Let it sit for a few minutes.

To wash it off I used my ever trusting Magic Eraser. If you haven’t discovered these yet you are missing out! I use my Magic Eraser on EVERYTHING, it get scuffs off my doors and floors and it is truly a magical cleaning product.

After scrubbing the sink with warmer water and my Magic Eraser, I was able to get all of the stains and junk off my sink. It worked great and was really easy to make. And best of all, no chemicals!
