Emerald Gender Neutral Baby Shower

A few weeks ago I had the honor of putting on a fun gender neutral baby shower for one of my best friends! It was a blast putting together a fun theme that went right along with the baby’s gender neutral nursery that is filled with creams, whites and khakis, full of natural textures and even includes a few pops of emerald green. She also loves anything nautical so I had to throw a few anchors in there :)

I already loved what the mom put together for the nursery and I wanted the shower to match the room in case the she wanted to use any of the decor and it is always fun to follow a theme for the new baby. Here are some of the details from the party, just goes to show that gender neutral can still be fun!

The main focus of the shower was this beverage and dessert table decked out in the main color scheme. We served water, mimosas, cupcakes, a fruit tart, rice krispies, and a candy selection.

Since I was putting on the shower in another state I could only bring so much with me and thankfully the home was already stocked with gorgeous emerald accessories so I ‘borrowed’ things from around the house!

I love creating backdrops for a display table, but I have to be honest, I will never do a crepe paper wall ever again! While it looks nice and is inexpensive, it took forever and I would have much rather just hung fabric as a backdrop. Big learning experience!

Using my Silhouette, I created custom labels fro the water bottles and also carried the theme into cupcake holders, napkin ties and the goodie bags. I also used the design for all of the games we played.

You can learn how I made the favor bags here.

The table linens included burlap and a cream linen material.

I made the napkin ties the same way as the favor bags above, but instead of using heat transfer paper I just used basic cardstock and punched a hole in them to tie the jute through.

Also scattered throughout the room were recycled vases with burlap ribbon and emerald ribbons and filled with white and green floral.

And what’s a baby shower without a diaper cake? I made this one to go with one of the shower games we played. After tying several baby items onto the cake I passed it around the shower and then took it out of the room. The guests were asked to write down as many items as they could remember and whoever got the most won.

It was such a fun gender neutral shower to put together! And the theme was a blast to work with.
