DIY Industrial Paper Towel Holder

Ok. You all know I’ve been working on my kitchen remodel (you can view the progress on Instagram) and I am excited to say I’m finally in the accessorizing stage! Isn’t that the best?! Just a few more details and I am ready to show you the whole reveal!

The other night, we ate Famous Dave’s BBQ had they had these Industrial Paper Towel Holders on each of the tables. I instantly fell in love and thought they would look perfect in my industrial kitchen. So naturally, like any DIYer, I made them.

I cut a piece of scrap wood and picked up some plumbing hardware and made my own. Seriously, they are SO easy!

DIY Industrial Paper Towel Holder! Made from wood and plumbing pipes.

Supplies:

8X8 Piece of Wood

220 Grit Sand Paper

Minwax Dark Walnut Stain

Satin Polyurethane

1/2″ Galvanized Floor Flange

1/2″ X 12″ Galvanized Pipe

1/2″ Tee Fitting

(4) 0.75-in Screws

Sand down using 220 grip paper

Start by cutting a piece of 1″ wood into a 8X8″ square and sand it with 220 grit sand paper. Sand until smooth and gently round the corners.

Wood stained in Dark Walnut

Give it a coat of Minwax Dark Walnut (my favorite!). I always prefer to apply my stain with a soft cloth. I think it gets better coverage.

Let it dry and then apply a coat of satin polyurethane to seal and project the wood.

Find the center of the piece of wood and screw down the Floor Flange.

Screw in the Pipe and then top it off with the Tee Fitting.

It feels so good to get a little organized in the kitchen! I have just a few more projects left and then I’m ready to share 5,000 tutorials (ok, maybe not that many but it feels like it!).

Awesome paper towel holder. I remember that on tables. Bet that puppy won’t topple over when you yank some towels in a hurry to clean up a mess. Great fantastic job there gal. You’re pretty durned handy to have around. I’m not allowed to use the tools, hubs thinks I might cut something vital off or break his tools.
    Happy week Pinning
