There are actually many areas of our home I haven’t shared yet on the blog. I’m learning that it takes time to make a house a home and I’m enjoying the process, even if it’s a little slow at times! Sooo are you ready to see a brand new space?
We can all agree that first impressions leave a lasting impression and that proves true for the home. One area of our home that I haven’t focused on yet is our entry way. We have a huge wall right as you enter our home and it has been completely bare since we’ve moved in.
I’m SO excited to show you our newly completely entry way display complete with this gorgeous sawhorse console table that I just love.
This look combines everything I love and want for our home: farmhouse style, rustic pieces, clean lines, statement pieces, and a feeling of classy yet cozy.
I’ve wanted a large glass jug for a long time, they make great accent pieces and you can change the fillers seasonally. If you are in the market, this one is super sturdy!
This large wall was desperately in need of a statement piece and I’m really happy with the progress we’ve made in this space! These vintage inspired mirrors are the ‘wow’ factor I was looking for and they are even more gorgeous in person than they appeared online. They ended up being a much lighter gray in person than in the picture but I really love them. Because they are so bold themselves, I didn’t feel like I needed to over accessorize. I tend to like more unique pieces and sometimes those just need to stand alone.
While I was planning out this space, I stumbled upon this adorable rustic bench that I just couldn’t live without. You know those pieces?! The ones that you lay your eyes on and it HAS to be in your home? It’s now one of my favorite items in our home, I just love the weathered wood legs and how they attached to the outside of the seat with an industrial screw. It’s all about the details. (ps. It’s is super reasonable and on sale right now too! Get it here)
SO let’s chat for a sec about planning out a new space. I’ve heard from a lot of you that getting started is the hardest part. I get it. I often struggle with deciding what direction I want to take and I often have so many ideas that it can be hard to make decision. But sometimes you just have to take a jump and go with it!
My first tip is to define your style. Start a Pinterest board where you can gather ideas of spaces you like and you will probably start to notice a trend. For example, I have a board called Farmhouse Love where I pin everything farmhouse related. Sometimes the rooms are more country, or more modern, but they all have farmhouse elements. It’s a great board to go back to every time I need new inspiration.
Once you gather enough inspiration, look through the boards and see what common elements they have that you love. Now. Want to learn about a cool new tool that I learned about to help you find pieces that complete the style you are looking for?
I uploaded the link to my ‘Farmhouse Love‘ pinterest board and then it popped out a list of similar products that it saw in my board. View my results here. You can also uploaded individual product images if you know specifically what you are looking for.
What new spaces are you working on? What do you find to be the hardest part about decorating a new room?
